At Chief, safety isn’t just a policy — it’s personal.Last week, our Grand Island plant paused production for our 2nd Annual Safety Day, bringing our entire team together to focus on one of Chief’s core values: Safety is Personal – Protect What Matters Most. Every conversation, presentation, and activity centered on making sure every employee goes home safely to the people and moments that matter most to them.The day began with opening remarks from Chief Buildings President & GM Dave Koubek, followed by a powerful keynote from Charlie Morecraft. After surviving a devastating workplace accident that left him with severe burns, Charlie has dedicated his life to sharing his story and reminding workers across the world how quickly one unsafe moment can change everything. His message was a powerful and emotional reminder of why safety must always come first.Chief leaders also shared insights and updates throughout the day, including Manufacturing Manager Jason Williams, Corporate Health & Safety Manager Jeff Harders, and Chief Buildings Health & Safety Manager Tim Logue. Topics ranged from survey results and hand safety to crane safety training, safety performance updates, and the roadmap for continuing to strengthen our safety culture.Employees participated in group breakout sessions focused on risk identification, reviewed real-world safety case studies, and shared their own version of a “perfect day” — the lives and people they are committed to protecting by working safely.The event also included team discussions, safety recognitions such as Safety Champion and Safety Stoplight awards (winners announced next month), and time together over lunch — reinforcing the idea that safety is something we build as a team.By stepping away from production and dedicating a full day to safety, we reaffirm a simple but critical goal: every employee, every shift, every day — home safe.Thank you to everyone who participated and continues to make safety part of everything we do.#ChiefBuildings #LeadLikeChief #safetyday #SafetyIsPersonal #workplacesafety #ProtectWhatMattersMost ...
