Our Lancaster, South Carolina Chief Buildings plant was proud to sponsor York Technical College Foundation’s annual Barrels, Bites, & Bright Futures event held last Thursday evening on York Tech’s campus. The 1920s-themed bourbon and food tasting fundraiser brought together community leaders, alumni, industry partners, and supporters committed to investing in the future of technical education and workforce development.
The event supports York Technical College’s annual fund, which helps provide scholarships, workforce training, emergency student assistance, and innovative learning opportunities for students throughout the region.
Representing Chief Buildings at the event were Lyle Myers, Grant Owen, Drew Sims, Quentin Eldredge, Stacy Catoe, and our President and General Manager Dave Koubek. The evening was especially meaningful because Grant, Drew, and Quentin are all York Technical College graduates, highlighting the strong and growing connection between the college and Chief Buildings.
Chief Buildings currently employs six York Tech graduates, and the partnership continues to grow as more students transition from the classroom into successful careers within the company. Supporting York Technical College is more than sponsorship involvement — it reflects Chief Buildings’ commitment to developing skilled professionals, investing in workforce education, and strengthening the local community.
The event also gave York Tech alumni on the Chief team the opportunity to reconnect with their alma mater and see firsthand the continued growth and innovation happening on campus. From technical training to workforce readiness, York Technical College continues to play an important role in preparing students for careers in manufacturing, construction, and industry.
Chief Buildings values its relationship with York Technical College and looks forward to continuing to support programs and initiatives that create opportunities for students and strengthen the future workforce in our region.
